Introduction to web hosting

In order to have a website that anyone in the world can see (Unless their government has blocked the website), you need a host to put it on the internet. The host stores all the files and gives you the domain you want i,e. www.google.com or www.facebook.com/. Those are both the domains that the owner of the website chose for them. Google and Facebook host their own websites because they have enough bandwidth for almost anything on the internet. In this post I will start off by recommending my favorite free hosts and why they are worthy of being my favorite.
I have personally looked through a lot of free hosts when I first started creating websites and the best free host I found was http://byethost.com/. They were totally and completely free and I have never had any problems with them. They give you 5 GB of storage, the option to make several parked domains and sub-domains and your own FTP account so you can upload the files to their servers. They give you a 49 MB SQL database (Usually used for forums and what not) which comes in handy if your website has to do with gaming. They give you 204800 MB of bandwidth which helps with uploading and downloading files from your FTP account.  They have a variety in sub-domains such as: http://www.example.byethost15.com, http://www.example.2kool4u.net, http://www.example.isgreat.org, http://www.example.66ghz.com. These are just a few of the sub-domains they let you use. Some sub-domains have a faster load time than others and I can tell you from experience that 66ghz.com is much slower than isgreat.org. I have always used isgreat.org because it is only six characters and its fast load time. There are plenty of other hosts out there and generally the ones that you pay for are more reliable but you should not buy a host unless you are going to follow through with the website and not decide that its to difficult after a week of having the host.
