Uploading files to FTP with ByetHost

Once you have created your website and registered with Byet Host, you are going to want to start uploading files to your FTP server that they have given. You will have 5GB of space on there so only upload what is completely necessary. In order to upload files to FTP, you will need a FTP client such as FireFTP which is an add-on for Mozilla Firefox or Filezilla.
I will use Filezilla for this tutorial because not everyone will have Firefox and I think Filezilla is easier. If you need to download it, click this link. Install the downloaded file to anywhere on your computer and open it up. You will then 3 boxes that say “Host” “Username” and “Password” on the top of the program. For the host, you will want to use ftp.byethost15.com. For the username, put in the username that Byet Host gives you. It will be “b15_numberhere.” The Password is the same password that you use for the website to log in.

1.) When that is done, hit quick connect.
2.) You will connect to a page that shows the Directory (The icon will be a folder) “/” and the directory “htdocs” The rest of the directories will be named after your sub-domains.
3.) Double click on the sub-domain that you want to upload files to and it will open the sub-directories.
4.) There will be a sub-directory named “htdocs” again. Double click that directory and it will open up a blank one.
5.) Find the files on your computer (Your hard drive is shown on the left side of the program) that you want to upload and drag them to the directory on the right.
6.) The files have now been uploaded and you can see them on your website.
